Director, Order to Cash (Life Sciences)

Location: South Plainfield, New Jersey, United States; 4 days on-site, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Salary: $174,000–$218,000 base compensation annually.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end global order-to-cash function across billing, collections, cash applications, accounts receivable, disputes, customer inquiries, reporting, and shared services.
• Manage approximately 20 team members and 4–6 functional leaders across billing, collections, cash applications, accounts receivable, and process transformation.
• Own DSO, AR aging, overdue balances, bad debt exposure, cash forecasting, cash conversion, and working capital performance.
• Standardize global processes, controls, roles, escalation paths, dashboards, playbooks, and continuous improvement routines.
• Drive automation and system improvements across CRM, order management, ERP, banking, customer portals, and reporting platforms.
• Partner with Sales, Operations, IT, Finance, Controllership, Customer Support, and shared services to resolve disputes, improve data quality, and strengthen revenue and control processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in order-to-cash, accounts receivable, billing, collections, shared services, or finance operations.
• 5+ years leading global, regional, or shared services teams.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-system operating environments and outsourced or BPO-supported finance operations.
• ERP and CRM experience, including NetSuite, Oracle, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
• Experience with service-based, project-based, life sciences, genomics, or laboratory-services revenue models, plus strong financial, operational, transformation, and people leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience transitioning activities from an outsourced model to local operations.
• Experience improving DSO, AR aging, cash conversion, invoice accuracy, unapplied cash, dispute aging, and customer billing experience.
