Operations Manager (Temporary Power)

Location: Huntingdon, with operational responsibility for the Huntingdon and Norwich depots

Salary: Up to £52,000 per year, plus a location allowance of up to 15% depending on location

What you will do

• Lead operational performance across the Huntingdon and Norwich depots.
• Manage engineering, transport, workshop, administration, hire, and stores functions.
• Own regional contract management, invoicing, documentation, reporting, and customer service-level delivery.
• Improve fleet availability and utilisation through effective workshop planning and engineering resource management.
• Review operational KPIs, implement improvement plans, and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead customer escalations, operational reviews, and team development through coaching and performance management.

Requirements

• Experience leading complex engineering, logistics, hire, fleet, industrial services, or technical service operations.
• Strong leadership experience across multiple operational departments.
• Excellent organisational, planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to improve profitability.
• Experience managing operational KPIs and implementing performance improvements.
• Strong people management, coaching, decision-making, and continuous improvement skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in generator hire, temporary power, plant hire, or related industries.
• Transferable experience in engineering, fleet, logistics, industrial services, or technical service environments.
