Specialist, Quality Engineering (Automotive Manufacturing): Leading quality engineering across high-volume automotive manufacturing, supplier quality, completed vehicle quality, and new model launches with an accent on process problem solving, parts assurance, and quality management systems. Focus on driving root cause analysis, developing corrective actions and inspection standards, managing supplier quality, and improving manufacturing KPIs.

Location: Huntsville, United States; onsite manufacturing role

Salary: $101,276.70–$129,642.74 annual salary, plus a yearly discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.

hirify.global produces vehicles in a large-scale, high-volume automotive manufacturing operation in North Alabama.

What you will do

  • Lead Quality Engineering activities across manufacturing processes, supplier quality, completed vehicle quality, mass production, and new model launches.
  • Develop and maintain the hirify.global USA Quality Business Management System, inspection standards, document controls, and floor management systems.
  • Identify manufacturing and customer-quality problems, lead root cause analysis, and establish corrective actions, containment, and recurrence prevention.
  • Manage supplier development, parts assurance troubleshooting, non-conformance investigations, changepoint communication, and parts inspection standards.
  • Develop quality improvement strategies, milestone plans, countermeasures, and KPI initiatives covering safety, quality, productivity, cost, and development.
  • Collaborate with Mazda, Toyota, suppliers, customers, and international team members; conduct vehicle quality testing and travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with supplier development, project management, project part launches, or manufacturing engineering in a production environment.
  • Experience reading part and component drawings and communicating technical information.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work outside typical business hours and travel as needed.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical STEM field.
  • Two or more years of relevant manufacturing, production, or engineering experience.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience, including parts development, testing, commercialization, and launch.
  • Experience with PFMEA, manufacturing control plans, strategic planning, consensus building, and project management.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or QS-9000 quality management systems and Japanese language skills or experience with a Japanese or internationally owned company.
