Director, Accounting (Retail & E-commerce)

Location: Santa Monica, California, United States

Base salary: $170,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity and annual bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Manage the month-end close process across the full sales-to-cash cycle and all revenue streams.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, financial results, and team deliverables.
• Lead process-improvement projects involving financial systems, reporting tools, automation, and data analytics.
• Develop scalable accounts receivable, general ledger, and reporting processes for B2B partnerships and retail operations.
• Maintain SOX controls, coordinate control walkthroughs, and support accounting policies and internal controls.
• Manage and develop the accounting team, collaborate with FP&A and business leaders, and support auditors and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting and a current CPA.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and strong SOX 404 experience.
• 8+ years of combined public accounting and/or public company industry experience, preferably in retail or e-commerce.
• NetSuite OneWorld experience is required.
• Experience with international accounting, multiple currencies, international consolidations, and high-volume transactions.
• Leadership, business partnering, financial analysis, and accounting process automation experience.

• Big Four public accounting experience.
• IFRS experience.
• Experience in a rapidly growing retail and e-commerce company focused on the sales-to-cash cycle.
