Underwriter - Marine Energy & Liability

Location: LON - London; hybrid work with three days per week in the office and two days at home

What you will do

• Underwrite and process new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments for a Marine Energy & Liability portfolio.
• Own the profitability, growth, and retention of the assigned book while monitoring rate adequacy.
• Ensure underwriting complies with company policies, controls, audit requirements, and Lloyd's Underwriting Management Standards.
• Research target business, competitors, industry and economic factors, market conditions, and new opportunities.
• Build relationships with agents, brokers, and customers while promoting hirify.global' underwriting philosophy and distribution strategy.
• Enter quotes, risks, and endorsements accurately and provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching where appropriate.

Requirements

• Previous Property and Casualty insurance experience in an underwriting, operational, or broker capacity.
• Experience in underwriting and the Lloyd's market.
• University degree and secondary-level education or equivalent.
• Emerging technical proficiency appropriate to the assigned underwriting authority.
• Intermediate judgment, decision-making, communication, teamwork, relationship management, analytical thinking, and financial acumen.
• Expected to be studying towards the ACII qualification.
