Senior Underwriter, Financial Lines

What you will do

• Underwrite professional indemnity and other financial lines risks within agreed authority, standards, and limitations.
• Assess risk desirability through financial statements, company information, proposals, claims history, and broker discussions.
• Support the UK regions portfolio and contribute to the financial lines underwriting strategy.
• Manage renewals, new business, submissions, bind rates, premiums, and underwriting management information.
• Build broker and client relationships, expand the broker network, and attend market meetings and industry events.
• Maintain customer focus, contract certainty, fair treatment, audit standards, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Proven professional indemnity underwriting experience is preferred; relevant experience with renewal and new business may substitute.
• Ability to analyse financial statements and assess insurance risks.
• Strong communication, networking, organisational, and time-management skills.
• Customer- and sales-focused, tenacious, motivated, proactive, and accountable approach.
• ACII qualification or progress toward completion is preferred.
• Ability to work primarily from the Manchester office.
