TL;DR
Material Compliance Specialist (Chemical and Materials Compliance): Monitoring global chemical regulations and certifications while maintaining compliance systems, substance inventories, and regulatory reporting with an accent on TSCA, REACH, polymer materials, and hazardous-material risk assessment. Focus on evaluating new substances and products, auditing compliance management systems, analyzing ERP data, and resolving regulatory issues with legal, engineering, manufacturing, and sales stakeholders.

Location: Kulpsville, Pennsylvania, United States; remote work may be required, but U.S. Person status is mandatory for authorized access to ITAR-controlled data.

What you will do

  • Monitor global chemical and material compliance trends and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Develop and execute a strategic material-compliance roadmap covering regulatory adherence, risk reduction, and safe material management.
  • Maintain knowledge of TSCA, REACH, RoHS, California SCP, POP, UNEP, and related chemical compliance programs.
  • Manage material and product certification requirements involving NSF, USP, FDA, WRAS, and similar regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct due diligence on supplier products and internally developed materials, including new-substance and new-use notifications and exemption claims.
  • Audit compliance systems and business operations, analyze ERP chemical-use data, prepare regulatory and customer reports, and collaborate with legal teams, consultants, scientists, engineers, production, and sales.

Requirements

  • BS degree in engineering, chemistry, material science, or a related technical field.
  • 6–10 years of experience interpreting and implementing quality guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, manufacturing, regulatory compliance, chemicals, and materials; polymer expertise is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of safety and risk assessment principles for hazardous raw materials and finished products.
  • Experience with chemical names, CAS numbers, data analysis, reporting, documentation, Excel, Word, and databases.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable ITAR rules, including U.S. citizenship, U.S. nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee status, or asylum status.
