Permitting and Compliance Specialist

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid schedule with office attendance Monday through Wednesday and remote work available Thursday and Friday.

What you will do

• Lead and administer the O&M 1205 land disturbance, construction, and environmental permitting review process in Maximo.
• Monitor workflows, assignments, approvals, follow-up actions, compliance documentation, and data quality from project initiation through closure.
• Lead the cross-functional redesign and enhancement of the O&M 1205 process, including requirements, workflow design, testing, implementation, and post-go-live support.
• Administer the Monthly Regulatory Verification program, coordinate applicability reviews, track actions, and maintain accurate regulatory records.
• Develop training materials, user guidance, communications, and change-management support for system and process changes.
• Collaborate with RCSS and IT on Palantir dashboards, data analysis, reporting, automation, and AI-enabled process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Three or more years of experience in environmental compliance, project permitting, management-of-change processes, business systems, or a comparable regulated operational program.
• Strong project and process management, stakeholder coordination, communication, training, troubleshooting, and customer-support skills.
• Advanced Excel and data-analysis skills, including reconciling large datasets, identifying trends, and producing reports.
• Knowledge of environmental permitting, land disturbance or construction review, regulated-industry compliance, and environmental management systems.
• A current, valid state-issued driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record are required.

Nice to have

• Experience administering Maximo, a management-of-change system, or an enterprise workflow or compliance application.
• Experience with Palantir or a similar business intelligence, data visualization, and AI-enabled analytics platform.
• Experience leading cross-functional technology or process-improvement projects through requirements, design, testing, implementation, and change management.
