TL;DR
Aerodynamics Engineer (Turbomachinery): Designing highly efficient and reliable turbomachinery compressor components across concept development, CFD simulation, validation, and product support with an accent on compressor aerodynamics, numerical analysis, and experimental fluid dynamics. Focus on developing optimization tools, analyzing complex flow components, and collaborating with aeromechanics, mechanical design, integrity, testing, and manufacturing teams.

Location: Finspång, Sweden; hybrid remote/office work.

What you will do

  • Design high-performance turbomachinery compressor components using numerical and commercial software.
  • Perform CFD calculations and analyses for compressors, intake houses, flow cavities, and bearing houses.
  • Use tools including ANSYS CFX, StarCCM+, and TRACE.
  • Develop optimization tools and new methods to improve R&D efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering, testing, and manufacturing teams across Europe, North America, and Asia.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and interest in theoretical and experimental fluid dynamics, mathematics, programming, and experimental methods.
  • Advanced English proficiency is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in an R&D environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience in turbomachinery.
  • Swedish language skills.
