Journeyman Cybersecurity Engineer (ACAS)

Location: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, Massachusetts, United States. Limited travel as needed.

Salary: $150,000–$160,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and operate ACAS components, including Nessus scanners, SecurityCenter/Tenable.sc, and NNM/Tenable.asm.
• Schedule and execute vulnerability scans and analyze results for vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
• Assist with compliance assessments against Department of War standards and internal security policies.
• Generate reports on vulnerability status, compliance posture, and remediation progress.
• Collaborate with system administrators on vulnerability remediation and support ACAS server and database administration.
• Monitor emerging vulnerability trends and cybersecurity threats.

Requirements

• Must be a United States citizen and maintain an active Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, plus familiarity with Windows and Linux.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Tenable ACAS suite, including Nessus, SecurityCenter/Tenable.sc, and NNM/Tenable.asm.
• Security+ or another relevant cybersecurity certification.
• Scripting experience with Python or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with Department of Defense security policies and procedures.
