Automation Engineer, Mid (Cybersecurity)

Location: Full-time onsite at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, United States

Salary: $130,000–$145,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy automation and orchestration solutions for cybersecurity and network infrastructure.
• Create and maintain scripts and workflows using PowerShell, Ansible, Python, and comparable technologies.
• Integrate cybersecurity tools, systems, and processes with existing infrastructure.
• Automate incident response, vulnerability management, compliance monitoring, log analysis, patch management, and system configuration.
• Test, troubleshoot, and conduct post-deployment reviews of automated workflows to ensure reliability, scalability, security, and high availability.
• Document solutions and collaborate with cybersecurity, network, infrastructure, and stakeholder teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in automation engineering, scripting, or related roles.
• Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and NATO read-on before commencing work.
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Ansible, Python, and automation or orchestration platforms such as Jenkins or Terraform.
• Experience with network infrastructure and cybersecurity systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and SIEM platforms.
• Understanding of system integration, APIs, configuration management, cybersecurity principles, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Security+, Certified Automation Professional, RHCE, Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
• Experience in a Department of Defense or Intelligence Community environment.
