TL;DR
Manager – Land/ROW Records, Contracts, & Optimization (Oil & Gas): Overseeing land and right-of-way records, standard contracts, database administration, and process improvement across Kinder Morgan’s business units with an accent on data quality, acquisitions and divestitures, and team leadership. Focus on optimizing land data capture, coordinating records workflows, supporting technical teams with process models, and solving complex reconciliation and analysis challenges.
Location: Hybrid role in Houston, Texas, United States

What you will do
- Oversee land and right-of-way records management, standard contracts, and process improvement activities across four business units.
- Supervise data entry into ROWDMAP, records systems, quality control, periodic payments, and third-party invoicing.
- Coordinate records handling, retrieval, disposition, transmittal, and storage for acquisitions and divestitures.
- Develop data capture standards, monitor electronic land data quality, and enforce land records policies.
- Lead ROW Analysts by setting expectations, coaching employees, and driving accountability.
- Design workflow diagrams, mockups, and supporting materials while managing process improvements and change initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 5 years of database management and/or process improvement documentation experience.
- At least 7 years of oil, gas, or energy industry experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, reconciliation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience leading people, projects, or mentoring and training employees.
- Ability to work with multiple management levels on financial forecasting and analysis with minimal supervision.
Nice to have
- Managerial or supervisory experience and familiarity with ROWDMAP or other land records databases.
- Ability to interpret and map legal descriptions and work with GIS data.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Visio or other process modeling tools.
- Experience supporting IT development teams or participating in UAT.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
