TL;DR
Records Manager (Information Governance): Managing and continuously improving a law firm’s physical and electronic records program with an accent on information lifecycle controls, legal holds, client file transfers, and staff supervision. Focus on implementing compliant workflows, improving records-system data quality, coordinating multi-office projects, and managing vendors, metrics, and operational risks.

Location: Dallas, United States. Professional office environment with in-office expectations governed by Firm policy; periodic travel to Firm offices may be required.

hirify.global is a large Dallas-based law firm providing legal services across corporate, litigation, banking and finance, healthcare, real estate, intellectual property, and other practice areas.

What you will do

  • Manage, coach, train, and evaluate Records Department personnel across assigned offices.
  • Oversee the creation, classification, retrieval, storage, transfer, retention, archival, and disposition of physical and electronic records.
  • Administer legal holds, client file transfers, lawyer mobility activities, audits, quality controls, and disposition documentation.
  • Translate records-management and information-governance policies into practical procedures, workflows, checklists, and training.
  • Own records-management systems and coordinate integrations, upgrades, migrations, automation, reporting, and data-quality remediation.
  • Manage records vendors, budgets, service levels, and multi-office projects.

Requirements

  • At least three years of progressively responsible records-management or information-governance experience.
  • At least two years of direct personnel supervision, team leadership, coaching, workload management, and performance development.
  • Working knowledge of physical and electronic records lifecycles, retention schedules, defensible disposition, legal holds, client file transfers, confidentiality, and records-related risk controls.
  • Experience with enterprise records-management and document-management systems; experience with NetDocuments and integrated records technologies is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing multi-office projects, vendors, budgets, metrics, and process-improvement initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, records management, library/information science, business, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may substitute.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of information governance, data privacy, information security, eDiscovery, preservation, and professional-responsibility considerations in law-firm records.
  • Certified Records Manager, Information Governance Professional, Certified Information Professional, or comparable certification.
