Intern/Co-op - Refining Mechanical Engineer (Fall 2027)

Location: Findlay, Ohio, or one of the listed Marathon refinery locations in the United States

Salary: $32.92–$41.67 per hour

What you will do

• Learn refinery industry codes, engineering best practices, and how engineering disciplines collaborate.
• Support area refining and project engineering by creating project scopes, estimates, and schedules.
• Oversee design activities and assist with construction processes under professional guidance.
• Support maintenance through equipment improvement design, reliability analysis, and maintenance program optimization.
• Perform root cause failure analysis and troubleshoot pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
• Evaluate new technologies, materials, and repair methods to improve refinery uptime and reduce costs.

Requirements

• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering with strong academic performance.
• Concurrent enrollment in a degree-seeking program.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time indefinite basis without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Availability for spring, summer, and fall work terms; availability for multiple terms is preferred.
