Intern Design Engineering (Utilities)

Location: Columbus, Ohio; candidates must reside within 50 miles of the reporting location.

Salary: $18.80–$31.70 per hour

What you will do

• Support engineering staff on projects addressing utility facility needs.
• Evaluate and design electric and gas facilities at varying levels of complexity.
• Collect and analyze data and review records.
• Create job order sketches using AutoCAD.
• Perform field measurements and assemble data for job order estimates.
• Provide project management support for assigned facility projects.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in an accredited, four-year ABET engineering program.
• At least one year of undergraduate study completed; entering junior or senior year in fall 2027.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week in a 12-week summer internship beginning in May 2027.
• Proficiency with PC applications; AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Access skills are preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, willingness to learn, and safety consciousness.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
