Engineering Intern (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering)

Location: Onsite in Roanoke, Virginia, or nearby areas. Willingness and ability to relocate for the summer to an engineering internship location if necessary.

Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, commensurate with education hours. A $1,500 per month housing stipend is available for interns moving more than 45 miles from their home address.

What you will do

• Collaborate with project teams and experienced engineers on planning, design, and execution of enterprise resource projects.
• Participate in design reviews, training sessions, knowledge-building projects, and constructability assessments.
• Visit operational facilities to learn about power system operations and assist with inspections and testing.
• Develop and analyze databases, reports, cost estimates, and dashboards for data-driven decision-making.
• Support documentation for operational performance and safety initiatives.
• Apply safety guidelines and standards in office and field environments.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical, civil, mechanical, or chemical engineering in an ABET-accredited program.
• At least one year of college completed, with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• At least 18 years old.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, OPT, or CPT.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred, along with strong verbal and written communication and time-management skills.
