Sr System Engineer (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; hybrid environment with occasional travel

What you will do

• Lead requirements engineering, systems integration, verification and validation, and Model Based Systems Engineering activities.
• Oversee system and decision analysis, technical planning, and technical risk management.
• Analyze, review, modify, and recommend software architectures that satisfy system and hardware requirements at an appropriate cost.
• Manage major project deliverables, architecture and design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle activities.
• Integrate hardware and software in laboratory or operational environments and collaborate with subcontractors and vendors.
• Provide technical leadership, communicate across disciplines, and mentor engineering team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; an advanced relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, with proven systems engineering leadership.
• Expert proficiency with systems modeling and simulation tools and knowledge of requirements management, systems design, integration, technical risk management, and V&V.
• Experience with software testing practices, configuration management, Windows Active Directory, virtual machines, containers, and hypervisors.
• Working knowledge of software concepts, programming languages, software architecture, and development methodologies.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

• Experience addressing aerospace and defense system complexity and system integration challenges.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams through system baseline definition and maturation.
• Experience with Earned Value Management, regression and acceptance testing, technical drawings, BOMs, specifications, CDRs, and SDRL deliverables.
