Process Engineer Co-op/Intern (Chemical Engineering)

What you will do

• Monitor and report process-unit performance, plant efficiency, capacity, catalyst performance, emissions, and process safety variables.
• Evaluate process and equipment performance, troubleshoot plant upsets, and develop solutions involving pumps, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, absorbers, strippers, boilers, combustion equipment, reactors, and high-pressure steam systems.
• Optimize plant processes through process modeling, data analysis, process tests, and technical support for Operations.
• Complete process engineering studies and support the collaborative design of new installations and processes.
• Prepare and review PFDs, P&IDs, scopes of work, and equipment specifications for capital projects.
• Participate in MOCs, PHAs, LOPA studies, incident investigations, equipment inspections, catalyst replacements, and turnaround support.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in an accredited Chemical Engineering program at an ABET-accredited institution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with personnel across the organization.
• Ability and willingness to collect field data, enter process equipment for inspections, and perform routine field engineering work in an operating chemical facility.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Availability for either a summer internship or a 7–8 month co-op assignment.
