Staff Accountant

Location: Charlotte, NC, United States. The position is primarily office-based, with limited travel based on project needs.

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 per year. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.

hirify.global provides power delivery construction and engineering solutions through utility service contractors working on transmission, substation, distribution, and grid hardening projects across the United States.

What you will do

• Prepare and maintain balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable operations, including weekly check runs and subcontractor payment batches.
• Verify subcontractor compliance documentation, including certificates of insurance, subcontract agreements, and releases of liens.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
• Support tax filings, internal and external audits, and responses to management requests for financial information.
• Identify and implement accounting process improvements and perform ad hoc financial analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with accounting software; proficiency with Sage 300 and Power BI is required.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or certification in progress.
• Construction industry experience.
