Contracting Project Manager (Construction)

Location: Chesapeake, Virginia, United States. Onsite Monday through Thursday; Friday work location is flexible.

Annual base salary: $107,540–$137,200. Incentive eligible; not eligible for sales commission.

What you will do

• Manage project financials, administration, implementation, schedules, compliance, documentation, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead project teams and serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
• Review contract documents to validate scope, cost, and schedule, establish customer expectations, and develop risk-mitigation plans.
• Manage cash flow, forecasts, expenses, collections support, applied costs, and monthly backlog reviews.
• Qualify subcontractors, oversee RFQs, award subcontracts, and manage subcontractor execution, billing, communication, and safety.
• Maintain project schedules using tasks, dependencies, and milestones while addressing deficiencies and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or construction project management, or 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Applicants without a four-year degree are encouraged to apply if they have relevant practical experience and skills.
• Experience with project schedules and construction project management software.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations or preventable collisions in the previous three years.
• Ability to work onsite in Chesapeake Monday through Thursday.
