Infrastructure Operations Team Lead

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; hybrid office/home working. The role includes mandatory participation in a 24/7 on-call rota, EMEA coverage, and occasional working-hour adjustments for handovers and coordination with global teams.

What you will do

• Lead and support approximately six infrastructure operations engineers, with dotted-line coordination for additional regional infrastructure staff.
• Own day-to-day operations for server, storage, virtualisation, backup, data protection, and cloud-hosted infrastructure.
• Provide third-level troubleshooting across Windows and Linux environments and manage incidents, requests, changes, and operational tasks in ServiceNow.
• Coordinate vulnerability remediation, patching, platform maintenance, lifecycle activity, operational controls, and controlled change implementation.
• Improve service quality, documentation, knowledge bases, support procedures, and operational consistency.
• Act as the local escalation point and collaborate with business stakeholders, regional colleagues, platform SMEs, and global Infrastructure Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Relevant degree or equivalent practical infrastructure engineering experience, with strong third-level enterprise infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on experience supporting Windows and Linux operating systems and enterprise virtualisation platforms such as VMware.
• Experience administering cloud-hosted servers on Azure, AWS, or equivalent platforms, including deployment, patching, and operational support.
• Knowledge of server, storage, backup, data protection, patching, vulnerability management, ITSM, and operational support processes.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tooling, controlled enterprise change activity, IT finances, and cost centre management.
• Good written and spoken English and willingness to participate in the mandatory 24/7 on-call rota.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetApp or equivalent enterprise storage platforms.
• Experience with Cohesity or equivalent backup and data protection platforms.
• Infrastructure or operations team leadership and line management experience.
• VMware, ITIL, Microsoft, or Linux platform certifications.
