Regional Vice President - Land Acquisition (Real Estate)

What you will do

• Lead regional land acquisition strategy, including annual acquisition plans, geographic targets, product goals, pricing, and market research.
• Manage Directors of Land Acquisition and oversee the identification, analysis, underwriting, negotiation, acquisition, and entitlement of land for lot development.
• Prepare feasibility packages, product recommendations, financial analyses, risk mitigation plans, letters of intent, agreements, and related legal documents.
• Oversee escrow, entitlement, transaction milestones, capital expenditure approvals, investment proformas, budgets, schedules, and financing scenarios.
• Lead negotiations and coordinate with engineers, attorneys, land planners, developers, brokers, landowners, consultants, governmental agencies, land-banking partners, and joint-venture partners.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach, evaluate, develop, and retain the Land Acquisition Department.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Real Estate is highly preferred; an MBA is preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible real estate transaction experience, including property valuation or appraisal, trustee sales, and escrow transactions.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience managing direct reports.
• Advanced knowledge of MLS and other real estate tools; working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
• Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, relationship management, employee development, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Valid driver’s license required. Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
