Land Acquisition Manager

Location: Port St. Lucie, Florida; daily reporting to the division or corporate office/community is required.

What you will do

• Identify, evaluate, track, and secure land development and divestiture opportunities using geographic information systems and local market data.
• Build relationships with brokers and industry contacts to source acquisition opportunities.
• Negotiate land purchase contracts and coordinate reviews with outside counsel and in-house legal teams.
• Prepare acquisition reports and proformas, including hard costs, soft costs, carry costs, fees, and financial assumptions.
• Lead site inspections and support due diligence, including environmental mitigation, subdivision, development agreement, and permitting requirements.
• Collaborate with finance, engineers, planners, governmental agencies, the Director of Land Acquisition, and the Division President to identify and resolve risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or five years of direct land acquisition experience.
• Five years of experience in land acquisition, divestiture, and development.
• Computer proficiency and the ability to use electronic systems to access, enter, and retrieve information.
• Strong communication, leadership, multitasking, prioritization, negotiation, and results-oriented skills.
• Ability to anticipate obstacles, propose solutions, work independently, and execute business plans.
• Ability to report to the division or corporate office/community daily and work onsite in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

• Concise writing and public speaking or presentation skills for reporting to the senior investment committee.
