Superintendent - Substations (Electrical Infrastructure)

Location: Houston, Texas; project assignments across the United States. Travel is required, with work performed in active construction environments and outdoors.

What you will do

• Direct field activities for substation construction projects, including greenfield construction and brownfield upgrades.
• Supervise General Foremen, field crews, subcontractors, and union workforce hiring and coordination.
• Plan crews, tools, equipment, materials, and project schedules with Project Managers and Engineers.
• Maintain safety, environmental compliance, quality control, productivity, profitability, and contract performance.
• Approve timesheets, pay sheets, daily field reports, as-built documentation, and project closeout materials.
• Train, mentor, and hold field personnel accountable while leading safety tailgate meetings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5–7+ years of relevant construction experience; substation or utility construction experience is preferred.
• OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor conditions, including lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds and exposure to heavy equipment, weather, and loud noise.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of substation field experience.
• Experience with greenfield and brownfield substation construction.
• Knowledge of substation switching procedures, safety practices, drawings, specifications, and field execution.
• Experience coordinating IBEW union labor and workforce planning.
