Athletic Trainer - Per Diem

Location: Local area high school and associated training facilities or athletic fields near Melrose/Wakefield Hospital

Pay range: $24.65–$30.82 per hour

What you will do

• Perform initial patient evaluations, including medical histories and physical examinations.
• Present findings to attending physicians and coordinate treatment plans.
• Monitor patient progress, treatment adherence, and rehabilitation procedures.
• Provide routine medical care, health education, triage, referrals, and injury documentation.
• Support athletic training coverage at high school sporting events and develop venue-specific emergency action plans.
• Coordinate with team physicians, community physicians, school nursing staff, and school systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
• Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers certification or eligibility.
• Athletic Training license or eligibility to become licensed within six months of hire.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Automated External Defibrillator certification.
• Availability for variable per diem shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
