What you will do

• Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatments, and dressing changes.
• Prepare visit charts by organizing diagnostic results, urgent-care reports, discharge summaries, and consultation records.
• Room patients by recording chief complaints, allergies, vital signs, medication lists, and tobacco history.
• Measure and document age- and condition-specific data, including height, weight, and pulse oximetry.
• Collect and process specimens using appropriate procedures and equipment, and process prescription refills.
• Maintain clinical supplies and medication sample areas, including labeling, storage, and stock levels.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, an MA training program with externship, or qualifying healthcare experience and formal training.
• MA I: one year of relevant healthcare experience, which may include an externship.
• MA II: at least three years of Medical Assistant experience and required CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
• CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification is preferred for MA I and required for MA II.
• BLS authorization must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintained during employment.
