Assistant Athletic Trainer

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States; onsite role with coverage of assigned home and away athletic events

What you will do

• Coordinate and deliver athletic training services to assigned varsity student-athletes under the direction of the head athletic trainer and team physician.
• Provide injury prevention, recognition, evaluation, treatment, acute care, and emergency response.
• Lead rehabilitation and reconditioning activities and support student-athlete health care administration.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records, daily injury reports, and annual injury summaries.
• Provide coverage for assigned home and away athletic events.
• Supervise athletic training students and coordinate athletic training equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, sports administration, or a related field.
• Board of Certification (BOC) certification and a Texas athletic trainer license or temporary permit by the date of hire.
• Experience using electronic medical records documentation systems.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Effective verbal and written communication and strong organizational skills.
• Availability to occasionally work evenings and weekends when required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in athletic training, sports administration, or a related field.
• One year of related experience or experience with college sports teams.
• American Red Cross Instructor certification for CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and experience as a preceptor or clinical supervisor in an athletic training program.
