Journeyman Electrical Engineer (Defense Systems)

Location: Hill AFB, Utah; onsite support required

What you will do

• Provide electrical and systems engineering support across research, design, development, installation, testing, operation, deployment, and sustainment activities.
• Conduct system engineering reviews and analyses throughout the full system lifecycle.
• Translate Department of Defense user requirements into system requirements for systems, subsystems, and equipment.
• Review system design baselines, architectures, interoperability requirements, specifications, engineering change proposals, and vendor submissions.
• Plan, coordinate, execute, analyze, report, and document test and evaluation activities, including securing test resources and tracking compliance.
• Support technical planning, risk and issue resolution, configuration management, life-cycle cost evaluation, and Foreign Military Sales efforts.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active Secret clearance required and must be maintainable.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in the DoD, or 7 years of directly related experience, including 5 years in the DoD.
• Experience with 2D and 3D modeling.
• Strong coordination, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, teamwork, and customer-support skills.

Nice to have

• Related degree from an ABET-accredited university.
• Experience with electrical circuit analysis, RF chains, antenna design, transmitters and amplifiers, receiver processing, electro-mechanical controls, modeling and simulation, or electrical system testing.
• Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, technical data packages, sustainment, and configuration management.
• Familiarity with electronic warfare, air combat operations, range infrastructure, foreign ground radar systems, and related tactics, techniques, and procedures.
