Software Engineer, API Integrations (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States; at least 6 hours of overlap with PST, generally from 8 am to 2 pm PST.

Base salary: $180,000–$240,000 annually, with potential eligibility for TRM's equity plan.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain third-party API integrations for AI-native products and agentic workflows.
• Develop scalable integration infrastructure, shared services, and internal tooling for adding external data sources.
• Build reliable APIs, backend services, and data pipelines for high-volume, mission-critical product experiences.
• Translate integration needs into technical roadmaps and measurable outcomes with product, engineering, data, and internal stakeholders.
• Improve the quality, observability, reliability, and maintainability of the integration platform.
• Participate in an on-call rotation approximately one week every 4–6 weeks.

Requirements

• Experience designing and building scalable backend systems, APIs, web services, and production software.
• Strong knowledge of third-party API integration patterns, including authentication, rate limits, retries, error handling, data normalization, and monitoring.
• Experience with relational or analytical databases, queues, caches, or event-driven architectures.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, prioritize technical work, and drive projects from unclear requirements through production launch.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders and experience collaborating cross-functionally.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States with the required PST overlap.
