Senior Underwriter & Team Leader - Sports Program (Insurance)

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire, United States. The role requires travel approximately 25% of the time for client, carrier, educational, and employee meetings.

What you will do

• Recruit, manage, train, and develop the assigned underwriting team, including performance management.
• Underwrite and analyze complex new and renewal accounts, assess risk, and determine pricing, coverage, and policy terms.
• Complete coverage placement through recommendations, binding, invoicing, and policy issuance.
• Establish underwriting policies, procedures, authority levels, coverage forms, rate plans, and guidelines.
• Build relationships with agencies, brokers, carriers, clients, and internal departments to support profitable program growth.
• Review policies and endorsements, obtain additional underwriting information, and resolve coverage and workload issues.

Requirements

• 7+ years of underwriting experience, including 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Property & Casualty and/or appropriate business licensure for direct client service and underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of insurance markets, risk factors, compliance with state departments of insurance, negotiation, mathematics, communication, organization, and analysis.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency with company systems.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.
