Postdoctoral Research Associate, Dravid Lab (Neuroscience)

Location: Bryan, Texas, United States. Full-time staff position; occasional weekend, evening, and required travel may be expected.

Salary: Commensurate with the selected hire’s education and experience.

What you will do

• Conduct and support research projects in neuroscience, pharmacology, or a related field.
• Study glutamate delta-1 and NMDA receptor function, pain pathways, basal ganglia circuits, astrocytes, and interneurons.
• Use brain-slice and cellular electrophysiology, structure-function analysis, circuit studies, drug discovery, and behavioral approaches.
• Collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize research data.
• Write and contribute to research papers, articles, publications, grant applications, and technical progress reports.
• Prepare presentations and mentor or supervise student and graduate researchers.

Requirements

• PhD in neuroscience, pharmacology, or a related area.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Ability to conduct research under general supervision and communicate findings in presentations and publications.
• Employment is subject to credential verification and a criminal history investigation.
• The position is grant funded, and continued employment may depend on future funding.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with brain-slice or cellular electrophysiology.
• Experience with confocal and super-resolution imaging of synaptic structures.
• Structural biology experience, including cryo-EM.
• Experience with drug discovery workflows and computational analysis.
