Texas A&M University Health Science Center operates the Joint Microscopy Laboratory as a shared research resource within the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics.

What you will do

  • Collect microscopy data using a recently acquired MINFLUX 3D microscope.
  • Assist laboratory users with experimental design and sample preparation.
  • Perform basic microscopy data analysis and support particle-tracking and image-analysis workflows.
  • Provide occasional support for the fluorescence-lifetime-capable Luminosa confocal microscope.
  • Optimize imaging methods and contribute to the development of novel microscopy strategies.
  • Work with scientists across different levels of expertise to generate meaningful research results.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Relevant professional experience in light microscopy.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, service-oriented approach to supporting laboratory users.
  • Ability to begin the position around January 1, 2027.

Nice to have

  • Three years of light microscopy experience.
  • Expertise with MINFLUX microscopy, super-resolution imaging, or single-molecule fluorescence microscopy.
  • Background in quantitative biology, biochemical and biophysical methods, particle tracking, and image analysis.
  • Comfort with programming, computational, and scientific analysis tools.
