Product Security Engineer (AI)

Location: In-person role based in the London or San Francisco office, with some work-from-home arrangements

Salary: San Francisco $227,000–$296,000; London £152,000–£199,000 per year

hirify.global develops research and products focused on AI safety, including Watcher, a security product for coding-agent deployments.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate Watcher’s identity and access management, cloud and infrastructure security, endpoint management, and incident-response controls.
• Establish secure product-engineering standards, including code-review checklists, dependency scanning, secrets management in CI/CD, and container hardening.
• Lead security projects from ideation through implementation and rollout, including vendor evaluations and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Prepare security questionnaires and product-security whitepapers, and support customer penetration tests.
• Own technical customer communications during incidents and collaborate with the Infrastructure & Security team on Watcher’s security roadmap.
• Translate enterprise security-buyer needs and AI-agent threat models into product priorities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on technical security experience, with the ability to read code, understand infrastructure, and evaluate technical controls.
• Direct experience in application security, cloud security, or product security, ideally for a product handling sensitive customer data.
• Experience building security products or working at a security vendor or security product company.
• Engineering mindset with strong automation, systems-thinking, and custom-solution development skills.
• Ability to work in a small, fast-moving team and communicate security decisions, trade-offs, questionnaires, whitepapers, and incident communications clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise security buyers and security-tooling priorities.
• Experience leading a security incident through resolution and customer communication.
• Experience with AI/ML systems security or LLM security.

Hiring process

• Screening interview, followed by a three-hour take-home test, three technical interviews, and a final interview with the CEO.
• No LeetCode-style general coding interviews; AI tools may be used during the take-home test.
