TL;DR
Regional Advisor II (Eagle Pass/San Antonio) (Higher Education): Developing and implementing admissions, financial aid, and early outreach programs to recruit and enroll prospective students with an accent on student advising, scholarship access, and high school partnerships. Focus on coordinating recruitment initiatives, counseling students and families through financial aid processes, and mentoring other advisors while supporting assigned regional programs.

Location: Laredo, Texas, United States; regular on-campus attendance and face-to-face interactions required. The role also covers recruitment activities in the Eagle Pass/San Antonio area and requires travel.

Salary: $21.11 per hour

What you will do

  • Develop and implement admissions, financial aid, and early outreach strategies for assigned high schools and regions.
  • Recruit under-represented, transfer, and freshmen students and support enrollment growth.
  • Guide prospective students and parents through admissions, scholarship, and financial aid applications.
  • Advise students on scholarships, loans, grants, employment, budgeting, and financial counseling.
  • Coordinate with high school counselors and organize presentations, campus visits, workshops, and other recruitment programs.
  • Mentor and train advisors on admissions and financial aid policies, procedures, and relationship development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years of related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of financial aid programs and federal financial aid regulations.
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Availability for regular on-campus attendance, face-to-face work, travel, and occasional evening or weekend work.

Nice to have

  • Bilingual Spanish/English communication skills.
  • Higher education experience.
  • Experience with student information systems such as Banner and Degreeworks.
