Assistant Director, Risk Analytics

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States; hybrid work with an on-site expectation of at least three days per week

What you will do

• Design, modernize, and optimize loan pricing strategies that balance growth, risk, and profitability.
• Develop quantitative and financial models for pricing, segmentation, forecasting, and risk-adjusted returns.
• Enhance origination decisioning, risk segmentation, and pricing logic across the customer lifecycle.
• Evaluate third-party data sources and analytical tools to improve risk assessment and pricing accuracy.
• Lead experiments and initiatives designed to improve approval rates, customer flow, and loan performance.
• Lead and mentor analysts while presenting recommendations to senior and executive leadership and partnering with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, finance, statistics, engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
• At least five years of analytics experience and at least two years of leadership or people-management experience.
• Strong understanding of data warehouses, data mining, and data analysis techniques, preferably using SQL, R, Java, or Python.
• Experience using analysis to drive strategy, presenting findings to executives, and communicating statistical concepts to technical and operational audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives independently and lead projects from concept through execution.
