EPC Permit Technician

Location: Santa Fe Springs, California, United States; works in the Santa Fe Springs office 60% of the time and in the field 20% of the time.

Salary: USD $29.00–$42.00 per hour, paid weekly and based on experience.

What you will do

• Review, prepare, organize, and submit initial permit packages, drawings, site studies, and supporting documents to the appropriate authorities having jurisdiction.
• Track permit applications, plan checks, inspections, project milestones, and deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with project managers, project development teams, jurisdiction staff, plan checkers, and customers to secure timely approvals.
• Maintain accurate permit records, logs, reports, letters, project summaries, and technical documentation.
• Perform due diligence during the RFP stage, including reviews of CUPs, ESAs, EIRs, and wetland permits.
• Negotiate permit fees and coordinate permitting payments while monitoring federal, state, and local requirements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of permitting experience, preferably across multiple jurisdictions.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, communication, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, write and edit technical documents, and maintain high attention to detail.
• General knowledge of solar PV, energy storage, and interconnection design and construction.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Permit Technician Certification from the International Code Council.
