EMS Systems Analyst Sr (Energy Management Systems)

Location: Hybrid in Taylor, Texas; on-site at least 2 days per week, with remote work performed from a Texas residence

Salary: $109,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve Grid and Market Solutions systems, including EMS, ICCP/SCADA, MMS, PMU, historian, outage, and grid planning applications.
• Plan and execute software upgrades, configurations, patches, migrations, releases, and non-functional testing across production and test environments.
• Integrate and manage containerized applications using CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, JFrog, and GitHub.
• Provide 24/7 rotational technical support, emergency recovery, and troubleshooting for system failures and operator questions.
• Coordinate database updates, real-time data collection, monitoring improvements, and disaster recovery drills.
• Collaborate with Operations Engineering, Market Operations, vendors, market participants, and other departments to implement changes and resolve issues.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience with EMS/ICCP/SCADA, MMS, outage management systems, OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, OSIsoft PI, or dashboard development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, Oracle or SQL Server databases, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge of programming or scripting with C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, PL/SQL, or shell scripting.
• Ability to work on-site in Taylor, Texas at least two days per week and perform remote work from a Texas residence.
• Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Experience with EMS, MMS, or outage management products from GE, Siemens, Hitachi Energy/ABB, Resource Innovations, or OSI.
• Experience with AVEVA PI Historian, XML, JSON, Java, CSS/HTML, web technologies, Azure/AWS, or messaging services such as Tibco JMS and AMQ.
• Power industry experience with a software vendor, ISO, or utility.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
