Full Stack Developer (React/Node.js)

Location: Chicago, IL area — hybrid, with regular in-person collaboration preferred

Annual base salary: $200,000–$220,000, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery across Portal/Auth/AppShell, Survey Manager 2.0, and MDP/Everest cloud-ingestion pipelines.
• Build, test, deploy, and operate React/TypeScript applications and Node.js/Python services, APIs, data layers, and pipelines.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools for planning, scaffolding, testing, migrations, documentation, and code review while maintaining accountability for quality, security, and reliability.
• Support AWS platform migration, including retiring an approximately 150-VM legacy footprint.
• Migrate Elasticsearch workloads to RDS and Redshift and convert Kinesis pipelines to MWAA-based orchestration.
• Coordinate dependencies with the DevOps/platform hire and COMET, CAT, and DIE teams while reporting delivery progress and AI-tool spend versus output.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full stack software engineering experience and a record of owning features from frontend and API development through deployment.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and TypeScript, plus backend development with Node.js and/or Python.
• Deep AWS experience, including EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, MWAA, and IAM.
• Experience designing, testing, and operating production APIs, services, data pipelines, infrastructure, and large-scale cloud integrations.
• Daily, substantial experience with agentic or AI-assisted coding tools and the ability to explain their impact on delivery throughput.
• Chicago-area residency or the ability to participate regularly in in-person collaboration is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Model Context Protocol, custom AI-agent tools, or connectors.
• Experience with VM consolidation, Elasticsearch migrations, ETL modernization, workflow-orchestration conversions, or managed data platforms.
