Full Stack Engineer (GenAI)

Location: Full-time, on-site at Sunnyvale HQ, California; no relocation provided.

Base salary: $175,000–$200,000 per year (DOE).

What you will do

• Own and maintain internal GenAI applications used across Operations, Sales, Finance, HR, and Engineering.
• Maintain a centralized registry for employee-built GenAI tools, including governance, visibility, and version control.
• Evaluate and integrate third-party AI APIs and open-source models into internal applications.
• Build scalable front-end interfaces, back-end APIs, microservices, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure for AI tools.
• Implement RAG pipelines, vector databases, prompt engineering frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment guardrails.
• Define AI development standards, review applications before production, monitor usage and costs, and report risks and performance to leadership.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of full stack software engineering experience, including at least 2 years working directly with AI/ML APIs or LLM-based applications in production.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience owning multiple software projects end-to-end, from architecture through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Front-end proficiency with React, TypeScript, Next.js, or equivalent modern frameworks.
• Strong back-end skills with Python and/or Node.js, plus REST and GraphQL API experience and familiarity with FastAPI, Flask, Express, or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience integrating OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude API, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent LLM/GenAI frameworks.
• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or pgvector and RAG architecture patterns.
• Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including Docker, Kubernetes, serverless functions, managed databases, and IAM/secrets management.
• Strong SSDLC knowledge, including threat modeling, OWASP Top 10, SAST/DAST tooling, secrets management, authentication, authorization, and data privacy controls.
• Familiarity with prompt injection, data exfiltration, model inversion, jailbreak mitigation, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.

Nice to have

• Security certifications such as CSSLP, CompTIA Security+, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, tooling portals, or enterprise AI application hubs.
• Background in robotics, IoT, or physical security technology environments.
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, responsible AI principles, EU AI Act, or NIST AI RMF.
• Experience with Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and monitoring LLM application performance and costs.
