What you will do

• Report, produce, shoot, write, voice, and edit original news content for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Research events, public records, reference materials, and background information to develop accurate stories.
• Arrange interviews, gather information from community events and sources, and evaluate leads and tips.
• Pitch locally relevant stories and coordinate priorities with producers and news managers.
• Write web and eMedia stories, present reports across platforms, and interact with viewers on social media.
• Revise content to meet editorial approval, timing requirements, journalistic integrity standards, and production-quality expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Fluency in English and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to ad lib when required and to meet deadlines while managing multiple assignments.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small newsroom team; weekend coverage may be required.
• Successful completion of a background screening is required for hire.
