Senior DevOps Engineer (GCP/Terraform)

Location: Remote - Americas; participation in a Follow-The-Sun on-call rotation from APAC hours is required.

What you will do

• Design and evolve GCP cloud architecture, including networking, interconnects, IAM, and high-availability topologies.
• Express infrastructure as code with Terraform and build CI/CD pipelines for planning, reviewing, testing, and safely applying IaC changes.
• Develop self-service platform capabilities and golden paths that help engineers provision infrastructure without manual hand-offs.
• Strengthen observability across metrics, logs, traces, and alerting using Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, and Alertmanager.
• Operate GKE clusters, Helm-packaged workloads, message brokers, and data stores, including RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, and PostgreSQL.
• Participate in on-call operations, incident response, structured debugging, post-mortems, SLO management, error budgets, and capacity planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure, or SRE roles operating large-scale, highly available production systems.
• Deep hands-on experience with GCP cloud architecture, including landing zones, networking, IAM, and high-availability design.
• Strong Terraform and GitOps experience, with a least-privilege mindset and experience managing infrastructure across multiple environments.
• Production experience building IaC CI/CD pipelines, using automated plan/apply workflows, code review, Policy-as-Code, drift detection, and safe rollouts.
• Significant Kubernetes experience, ideally with GKE, plus Helm, networking, observability, PostgreSQL, and message broker operations.
• Availability for a Follow-The-Sun on-call rotation from APAC hours and effective written communication in a distributed, async-first team.

Nice to have

• Experience with OPA/Conftest, Checkov, tflint, Atlantis, Terraform state management, module registries, or large-scale versioning.
• Experience building internal developer platforms and golden paths with Backstage, Tilt, or similar tools.
• Working proficiency in Go, strong Linux and container fundamentals, or experience with Alloy and Rootly.
• Security and compliance experience in regulated environments, including SOC 2, secrets management, or audit logging.
• Familiarity with trading, brokerage, regulated fintech, or low-latency systems.
