Manager R&D (Medtech)

Location: Northfield, Illinois, United States

Salary: $134,000–$201,000 annual, plus bonus and/or incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Compliance Project Managers.
• Coordinate enterprise quality and regulatory compliance initiatives, including product file updates, quality management processes, post-market management, audit readiness, and manufacturing enhancements.
• Plan resources, timelines, communication channels, and project execution with divisional, quality, regulatory, legal, and manufacturing stakeholders.
• Monitor initiative progress, identify risks, and protect timelines, deliverables, and regulatory commitments.
• Lead escalation and issue-resolution processes with senior leadership and project sponsors.
• Align compliance initiatives and integrate corrective actions and communications across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science field.
• At least 4 years of experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical-related field.
• Experience indirectly managing, training, assigning work to, or developing team members.
• Experience independently assessing situations, initiating actions, and leading teams or projects.
• Strong time management, prioritization, organization, and multi-project tracking skills.
• Ability to process complex details, prioritize information, and draw clear conclusions.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Post-market activities experience.
• At least 5 years of R&D experience in the healthcare industry.
• Experience supervising cross-functional teams and coordinating concurrent projects with competing priorities.
