Data Engineer I (Databricks, AWS, Python)

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States. Candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; the role does not sponsor H-1B petitions, TN, or Forms I-983/STEM OPT.

Annual base salary: $109,300–$180,200, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Build, operationalize, and maintain complex data solutions and pipelines.
• Design data solutions and analyze source systems to identify valuable data for analytical processes.
• Apply data transformations and recommend data cleansing, quality, governance, and security improvements.
• Test data movement, transformation code, and data components.
• Collaborate across teams, support delivery, and educate end users on data products and analytics environments.
• Analyze and resolve moderate-complexity data and system defects and incidents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two additional years of software or data engineering experience; the profile also references six years of related experience.
• Experience with Python, SQL, AWS, Databricks, cloud platforms, and software engineering practices.
• Experience with OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Terraform, and API design.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and intermediate leadership skills.
• U.S. work authorization for any employer is required; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
