Sr. Databricks Consultant (Top Secret Clearance)

Location: Fairfax, Virginia, United States; work in the Arlington, VA office. US citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance are required.

Salary: $175,000–$250,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks.
• Optimize Databricks workflows and clusters for performance and cost efficiency.
• Integrate Databricks environments with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality datasets and insights.
• Troubleshoot data infrastructure issues and drive continuous improvement for customer environments.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance.
• Production experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and data lakehouse architecture.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or SQL for data engineering.
• Experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, data quality, and performance tuning.
• Experience with AWS S3, Azure Data Lake, or GCP Storage, plus familiarity with CI/CD and Git.
• Must be a US citizen per contract; ability to travel to customer sites as needed. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience with Databricks MLflow, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Event Hubs.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation.
• Background in data security and compliance, including HIPAA, FedRAMP, or SOC 2.
• Consulting, customer-facing, project management, Agile, DevOps, or MLOps experience.
