Utilities Engineer

Location: Washington Works facility, Parkersburg, West Virginia, United States; onsite plant-based role with less than 10% travel. Permanent work status in the United States is required.

Annual pay range: $85,801–$134,064 USD. Annual bonus target: 6%.

What you will do

• Maintain continuous operation of site utility systems and develop utility capacity expansion plans.
• Support well-water production, distribution, and pretreatment systems.
• Support compressed-air production and distribution, as well as nitrogen and natural-gas distribution.
• Lead process improvement tests, troubleshooting, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital programs.
• Monitor utility performance and prepare documentation for site regulations and permits, including NPDES and Title V.
• Lead or participate in incident investigations and process hazards analyses.

Requirements

• BS in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in an industrial process environment.
• Knowledge of chemical plant equipment, including pumps, compressors, piping, valves, and boilers.
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe footwear, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, and respirators.
• Awareness of OSHA 1910 Process Safety Management and permanent U.S. work authorization without immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with wells, well drilling, and pumping.
• Experience with air compressors, maintenance, and rebuilding.
• Knowledge of environmental monitoring equipment and instrumentation, including pH, flow measurement, and total organic carbon analyzers.
• Knowledge of Title V and NPDES regulations.
