QA Engineer

Location: Bracknell, Oxfordshire, South East UK; hybrid model with 2 days onsite and 3 days from home. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

What you will do

• Execute manual testing across web, desktop, and API-based applications.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects for developers.
• Perform regression testing and validate requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain test documentation and collaborate with developers and product owners.
• Gradually fix bugs, implement small features, and write unit tests using C#/.NET.
• Support automated testing and participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of software testing, test case design, defect lifecycles, and regression testing.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify edge cases and unexpected user behaviour.
• Understanding of programming and object-oriented programming fundamentals.
• Basic knowledge of relational databases, client/server concepts, APIs, and REST/SOAP.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and XML.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• ISTQB Foundation or a similar QA certification.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, Selenium, or Playwright.
• Basic knowledge of C#/.NET, ASP.NET, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Experience with Postman, Swagger, xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
• Understanding of Agile, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.
