Adjunct Faculty - Sociology

Location: Killeen, Texas; online teaching is available, and candidates do not need to live in Central Texas. Applicants must already be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Teach upper-level undergraduate sociology courses as needed on a semester-by-semester basis.
• Develop course syllabi using the approved College of Arts & Sciences format.
• Respond to student questions and provide timely grading feedback.
• Meet with students who need additional assistance with course material and assignments.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in sociology.
• Experience teaching sociology.
• Expertise in and commitment to undergraduate sociology education.
• Enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching and innovative teaching methods.
• Authorization to work for any U.S. employer is required; the department cannot sponsor or assume sponsorship of an employment visa.

Nice to have

• PhD in Sociology or a related field.
• Ability to teach social inequalities, health and illness, media, political sociology, or the military.
