Fleet Service Technician (Electric Vehicles)

Location: Chicago, USA; hybrid. The role includes travel to service sites and work in automotive garages, service stations, and all-weather environments.

What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles, including oil changes, fluid checks, and safety inspections.
• Use computer diagnostic tools to diagnose and repair electric vehicles.
• Repair electrical systems, suspensions, and braking systems, including ABS and air brakes.
• Travel to customer and operational sites for preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inventory logs in the fleet management software.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience repairing heavy-duty vehicles; electric vehicle experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license; a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License is often required or must be obtained during the probationary period.
• Ability to lift 75–100 lbs., walk on uneven surfaces, climb into large vehicles, and work in awkward positions.
• Ability to work in harsh winter conditions and other all-weather environments.

Nice to have

• Completion of an accredited vocational or diesel technology program.
• Experience working with electric vehicles.
