Senior PCB Designer (PCB)

Location: Stafford Springs, Connecticut, United States. On-site office environment with standard 40-hour workweeks.

What you will do

• Design moderate to complex digital, analog, power, and RF PCB layouts using Siemens Xpedition, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, and/or Altium.
• Place and route components while meeting electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and physical design requirements.
• Create fabrication and assembly drawings, ODB++ outputs, PCB/CCA documentation, and engineering change updates.
• Design high-speed and RF routing structures, including differential pairs, controlled-impedance traces, microstrip, coplanar waveguides, via fencing, and delay tuning.
• Collaborate with signal integrity, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, process engineering, and program management teams.
• Provide layout feedback, resolve design-for-manufacturing queries, and support prototype, production, and sustaining engineering activities.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required due to ITAR requirements and the need to qualify for a US Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
• At least 5 years of hands-on PCB design experience, including proficiency with Siemens Xpedition, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, and/or Altium.
• Experience creating electrical drafting, fabrication, assembly, schematic library, and PCB footprint documentation.
• Knowledge of IPC standards, including IPC-2221/2223 and IPC Class III design and manufacturing practices.
• Understanding of multilayer CCA, flex PCB, HDI, μ-via, stack-up construction, impedance modeling, and high-speed/RF design constraints.
• Associate degree in Electrical Design/Drafting or a BS in Electronic Technology; relevant training or career experience may substitute with a 5–10 year track record.

Nice to have

• PCB design experience in aerospace and defense.
• CID or CID++ certification.
• Experience with Valor DFM TQ resolution, CAM350, or Siemens BluePrint.
