Mold Maintenance Technician (Plastics Manufacturing)

Location: Rockwall - Channell HQ, United States; onsite shop environment

Pay: $22–$34 per hour

What you will do

• Inspect, clean, and perform preventive, corrective, and routine maintenance on injection molds.
• Troubleshoot and repair cavities, cores, slides, lifters, ejector systems, and other worn or damaged components.
• Disassemble and reassemble molds accurately to maintain function and alignment.
• Use grinders, polishing equipment, hand tools, micrometers, mills, lathes, and surface grinders for repair and finishing.
• Maintain repair records, mold storage areas, and proper handling procedures.
• Collaborate with process technicians, mold setters, and engineers during tooling issue resolution, mold trials, and qualification of repaired or new molds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of mold maintenance or mold repair experience in a plastics injection molding environment.
• Strong understanding of mold construction, cooling systems, hot runners, ejector systems, and venting.
• Ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings, and toolroom schematics.
• Good organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to lift and carry tools and machinery up to 50 pounds.
• Must work onsite in the Rockwall shop environment and be available for overtime as needed.

Nice to have

• Technical training or certification in mold or tooling repair or machining.
